Jane (Obenchain) Fox

Jane Obenchain Fox, 62, of 19160 Summers Drive, died at 4:10 a.m. today in the North Michigan Hospital, Petoskey, Mich., after a lengthy illness. She was born on March 7, 1920, in South Bend and was a lifetime area resident.
On April 10, 1943, in Camp Lee, Va., she married William Fox Sr., who survives, along with a daughter, Mrs. Mary Jane Lawson of South Bend; two sons, William Fox Jr. of Alameda, Calif. and Roland Williams Fox of South Bend; two grandchildren; and a brother, Roland of South Bend.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Beaver Island Christian Church, Beaver Island, Mich. Cremation will take place in Sault Sainte Marie, Mich. Local memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the First Presbyterian Church of South Bend. Rev. Philip M. Sorenson, D.M., pastor, will officiate both services. Friends may call in the church parlors after each service. The Welsheimer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She was a member of the South Bend First Presbyterian Church, the Beaver Island Christian Church, a sustaining member of Junior League of South Bend, the Visiting Nurses Association, a member of the Healthwin Hospital Library Board and Morris Park Country Club. She was a graduate of Stevens College, Columbia, Mo. and attended William and Mary University and Indiana University.
