Eleanor Kathryn (Flanigan) Cooper

Eleanor K. Cooper, 66, of 2731 Lance Court, died at 8:40 a.m. today, Jun 5, 1986, in Meridian Health Care-Cardinal. Mrs. Cooper was a volunteer for REAL Services in the Head Start Program. She was born Feb. 29, 1920, in Logansport, Ind., and had lived in South Bend most of her life.

On Sept. 22, 1944, as Eleanor Flanigan Burgess, she married Walter R. Cooper. He died March 26, 1982.

She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Fiskaali of Hollywood, Fla.; a son, Richard E. Burgess Jr. of South Bend; seven grandchildren; a sister, Etta Schaefer of Lansing, Mich.; and two brothers, Floyd Flanigan of Talent, and Eugene Flanigan of Salem, S.C.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc
