L. Eileen (Fisher) Thompson Thornton

In 1941, Eileen graduated from North Manchester College along with her future husband Basil C Thompson. 

On June 26, Basil was inducted into the US Army at Fort Benjamin Harrison. On 06 Oct 1941, in North Manchester, Kosciusko Co, Indiana, Eileen married Basil C Thomopson in a double wedding ceremony.

In May 1943, he embarked overseas and participated in the initial invasion in the Sicilian campaign. On 06 Nov 1943 he was Killed in Action in Italy. He had a temporary internment in Avellino, Italy.

On 03 April 1949 he was re-interred in Maple Grove Cemetery in his hometown of Argos, Indiana.
