Elner L. (Taylor) Parker

Elner L. Parker, 91, passed away at 10:03 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend with her family by her side. Mrs. Parker was born on February 23, 1920 in South Bend to the late William C. and Bessie V. (Lacrone) Taylor. She has remained a lifelong resident of South Bend.
On May 21, 1939 in South Bend, she married Kenneth R. "Roscoe" Parker who survives. Along with her husband of 72 years, Kenneth, survivors include her two daughters, Bonna (Wayne) Hiser of Hobart, IN and Carol (Everett) Finney of South Bend; three sons, William (Gloria) Parker of Pittsburgh, PA, Thomas Parker of Houston, TX, and Ken (Annette) Parker of Saline, MI; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
One sister, Beatrice G. Taylor, preceded in death on February 22, 2003.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2012 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Rev. Dr. Dexter W. Garman, pastor of Epworth Memorial United Methodist Church, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Bremen Cemetery, Bremen, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend.
Mrs. Parker was a longtime member of the Epworth Memorial United Methodist Church.
