Samuel Maurice Sandock
May 19, 1921 - March 23, 1997
Samuel M. Sandock, 75, of Weist Lane, South Bend, Ind., died after a lengthy illness on Sunday, March 23, in St. Joseph's Medical Center. He was born May 19, in South and had lived all of his life in this area.
Mr. Sandock is survived by his wife, Ruby Sandock; two sons, Louis Sandock of South Bend and Danny Sandock of Bloomington, Ind.; three grandchildren, Deena Abraham, Jacob Sandock and Kevin David Sandock; two great grandchildren, Akiva Abraham and Miriam Abraham; and a brother, Jules Sandock of New York, N.Y.
A sister, Louise, preceded him in death.
Mr. Sandock was a veteran of World War II, was a member of Jewish War Veterans, Sinai Synagogue, and was also a member of the Elks. Sam had been the co-owner of Sandock's Furniture Company in South Bend. His father, Barney Sandock, and Barney's brother Sol had come to South Bend in the early 1900s, and had started the business, B&S Sandock, Inc.
Services and burial were held on Sunday, March 23, in Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, Mishawaka.
