Dallas A. Milem

ST. JOSEPH Dallas A. Milem, age 87, of Saline, Mich., formerly of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, among his family in Saline, Mich. Dallas was a graduate of Notre Dame University class of 1943 and a long-time resident of St. Joseph. As part of the greatest generation, he served in World War II as a medic, dedicated to serving his Army brothers and country, and was awarded many medals, including the Bronze Star. His career with Indiana and Michigan Electric spanned 38 years, followed by five years with Whirpool's Cool Line. Throughout this time he was active with the Rotary Club, Methodist Peace Temple and a member of the Masonic Lodge F. & A.M.
Dallas is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Milem of Saline; his daughter, Nancy (Bruce) Ross of Saline; and his sons, Mike (Polly) and Bruce (Cindy) Milem, all of Westfield, Ind.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was a loving and dedicated husband and father. His legacy lives on.
He was preceded in death by his sister and brother.
