SOUTH BEND - Services for Anthony C. Kovatch, 73, of 1608 Enchanted Forest, who died about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in his home, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St Adalberts Catholic Church. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm. Friday in St Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc., or Saint Marys College.

Mr. Kovatch retired in 1968 from South Bend Fire Department and in 1984 from Saint Marys College as director of security.

He was bom Nov. 26, 1920, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident On Jan. 8, 1944, in South Bend, he married Harriet Podlas.She survives, with two sons, Robert A. of Indianapolis and Ron of Urbana, IlL; three grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Jean Derdak of South Bend. He was a veteran of World War n and a member of American Legion Pulaski Post 357, Indiana Firefighters Association, and the church.
