Jasper Henry "Jack" Hurley

Jasper H. "Jack" Hurley, 69, of 706 Dale St., died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in his home. He retired in 1972, following 35 years of service, from Drewry's Brewery Ltd. He also worked for Dodge Manufacturing Co. until 1975.
Mr. Hurley was born Jan. 23, 1919, in Fayetteville, Ga. He lived in South Bend since 1937, coming from Georgia.
On Nov. 16, 1940, in Rensselaer, he married Kathleen G. O'Donnell, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Kathleen S. Graser of Edwardsburg; five sons, Jack N. of New Bern, N.C., Dennis R., Thomas E., and James M., all of Mishawaka, and Timothy P. of South Bend; 11 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; two sisters, Mary Pietrzak of South Bend and Jeanne Gastineau of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and three brothers, Charles T. Sr. and Kenneth, both of South Bend, Ronald H. of Mishawaka.
Services are incomplete at the Thallemer Goethal's Funeral Home. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
He was a World War II Navy veteran, a charter member of VFW 9820, lifetime member of DAV 6, and a member of International Union of United Brewery Workers Local 275 for 35 years
