John L. Fecteau, 62, of 1230 Woodlawn, died unexpectedly at 6 a.m. Monday in his home. He was a machinist for 30 years at the Bendix Corp. He was born on Jan. 4, 1920, in Detroit, Mich., and lived in the South Bend area most of his life.

On Feb. 1, 1941, in South Bend he married Gertrude Wituski. She survives with a daughter, Mrs. Charlene Butler of South Bend; a son, John G. of Granger; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Peg Tarwacki of South Bend and Mrs. Helen Fett of Mishawaka; and his stepmother, Mrs. Mary Fecteau of Mishawaka.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Joseph A. Jacobs, pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
