Clifton Marvin Copeland

SOUTH BEND Clifton M. Copeland, 77, of South Bend, passed away Friday, May 30, at his home. He was born Aug. 26, 1919, in South Bend, to the late Clifton M. and Louise "Grey" Copeland. He was married on July 19, 1942, in South Bend to Frances Helmick who died in 1993.

Surviving are a son Clifton E. Copeland of Greendale, Ind., along with two grandchildren, Angela Marie Story of Cincinnati, Ohio and Daniel Roger Copeland of Greendale and a brother, Robert Leroy Copeland of South Bend.

Mr. Copeland had two brothers who preceded him in death, Richard and Walter.

Clifton retired from the South Bend Fire Dept. which he served for 22 years and he was working for the Brinks Armored Car Service of South Bend. Mr. Copeland was an active member of Zion United Church of Christ where services were held. He also belonged to the Indiana Fireman's Association.

Memorials in his memory may be made to the Zion United Church of Christ. Cremation and burial has taken place. The Welsheimer Funeral Home handled arrangements
