Alice M. (Heatherson) Miller

Alice M. Miller, age 89, of Holy Cross Village, South Bend passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Alice worked for many years for Indiana Bell. She was born on December 13, 1921 in South Bend to the late Christopher and Mary Heatherson and has lived in South Bend most of her life.

On January 30, 1943 in South Bend she married Joseph Miller who preceded in death on August 31, 2003. Survivors include three sons, James M. (Karen) Miller of St. Joseph, MI, Michael J. (Susan) Miller of Charlotte, NC, and John P. (Jo Ann) Miller of Wheaton, IL.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Robin (Theodore Ribbens) Miller of Evanston, IL, Erik Miller of South Bend, Angela (Steve) Schmidt of Granite Bay, CA, Major Joseph M. (Emily Dewitt) Miller of Alexandria, Virginia, Megan, Michael J., and John L. Miller of Wheaton, IL., and three great grandchildren, Esme, Madigan and Joseph.

Alice was a volunteer for many years and was past president of Christ Child Society, South Bend. She also provided tours at the Snite Museum at the University of Notre Dame.
