SOUTH BEND Arthur Wekony, 64, of 1544 St. Michael's Court, died at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Wekony was the former owner of Wekony The Hatter until 1970, and co owner of Wekony Distributing Inc.

He born Nov. 8, 1920, in South Bend was a lifelong area resident.

On Aug 25, 1945, in South Bend, married Dolores Wysock, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Thomas P. of South Bend and Gerald A. of Hallendale, Fla.; grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas H. of South Bend.

He was veteran of World War II, serving the European, African and Middle Eastern theaters. He received numerous medals including the Silver Star, four Bronze Stars and several Purple Hearts. He was a member of Benevolent Protective Order Elks Lodge 235, Disabled American Veterans, St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church and Holy Name Society of the church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Anthony Catholic Church. Cremation will take place. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
