Velma M. (Waechter) Aker

SOUTH BEND Velma Marie Aker, 71, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday in Greenbrock Nursing Home, St. Petersburg. Mrs. Aker was born April 24, 1921, in South Bend and lived Florida for 11 vears, going there from South Bend.

On Sept. 7, 1941, in South Bend, as Velma Waechter, she married Earl R. Aker. He died June 3, 1984.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda M. Aker of St. Petersburg and Judith L. Sawayda of Largo, Fla.; two sons, Robert A. of Treasure Island, Fla., and Earl Jr. of South Bend: seven grandchildren: and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Warner Funeral Home, Osceola. Burial will be in Osceola Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 10 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
