Mary (Starko) Kasprzak

PORT WASHINGTON, WI - Mary Kasprzak, 89, of Port Washington, WI, passed away at 8:55 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, in Heritage Nursing Rehabilitation Center. Mary was born on June 4, 1921, in South Bend. She married Edward Kasprzak on May 3, 1941, and he preceded her in death on April 16, 1997. Her parents were George and Frances (Wilczewski) Starko.
She was a lifelong resident of South Bend and Mishawaka. She retired from Robertson's Department Store after 31 years as a salesperson. For health reasons, she moved to Wisconsin in December 2010. This allowed her to live close to family who cared for her until passing.
In addition to her husband, also deceased are a son Michael Kasprzak; two sisters, Genny Lockwood and Helen Wilczewski; and two brothers, Joseph and Frank Wilczewski.
She is survived by two sons, Gerald (Josie) Kasprzak of Richmond, KY, and Ken (Beverly) Kasprzak of Grafton, WI. Four grandchildren, Beth (Jeff) Froelich of Port Washington, WI, Melanie (Jamie) Gram of Pembroke Pines, FL, Chad (Erin) Kasprzak of Holland, MI, and Jill (Tommy) Taylor of Richmond, KY. Longevity allowed quality time with six great-grandchildren who loved her and brought her joy, Matt and Nick Froelich, Trinity Gram, Clarke Kasprzak, Mary Alex and Macy Taylor. A nephew, Dean (Darlene) Lockwood, a great-niece, Denise (Al) Westendorp, and family, Kurt, Mark, Genny and Emily (Jason) Krassow.
Mary was a member of St. Stanislaus Church and the Holy Rosary Society, the St. Casimir's Parish Seniors, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She leaves family and friends who will miss her deeply. Among her many friends were Norma Janczak and family, Honkers Restaurant employees, the Card Club and the Birthday Club.
