In Memory
Warren A. Seaborg
Feb 27, 1921 - Feb 20, 2011
Mr. Seaborg of Matthews was born on February 27, 1921, in South Bend, Indiana and passed away on February 20, 2011. While in high school, he played basketball for Coach John Wooden, then played ball at Purdue University where he met his beloved wife Betty. He went on to become a high school math teacher, basketball coach and principal.
The students and faculty admired and respected Warren. Prior to the school announcements each morning, the theme song from Pink Panther was played, reflecting Warren's tall, thin and athletic physique. The song also captured his wit and wonderful sense of humor, something he never lost. In 1992, Warren and Betty happily settled into their new home in Plantation Estates where they made wonderful new friends. Despite losing his vision, Warren continued to be active in the community.
He went on to become the dedicated caregiver of Betty in the last years of her life.
He is survived by his four daughters, Stephanie, Pamela, Christina, Priscilla, and their families including nine grandchildren. They are so grateful for his loving and devoted years with them. He was an amazing role model and inspiration.
A memorial service will be held at Plantation Estates in Matthews, NC on February 25, 2011 at 3:00 p.m.
The family extends a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Plantation Estates
