CRYSTAL LAKE Joseph Q. Puca, 80, of Crystal Lake, formerly of South Bend, Ind., died Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at the Fountains of Crystal Lake. He was born April 26, 1919 in South Bend. Ind., to Carmin and Raffeale (Vernaglia) Puca.
He married Leona I. Oyster on July 5, 1952, in South Bend, Ind.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was an usher at Notre Dame University with the football program for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Helen Puca of Round Lake and Mary (Robert) Behrendt of McHenry, two sons, Joseph H. (Kathleen) of Muncie, Ind., and John P. (Carol) Puca of McHenry; four grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon, Joel and Jay; a sister Mary Dainelli; and a brother, Patrick Puca.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Zoucha.
Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 25, at Skaja Buchmann Funeral Home, 7715 Northwest Highway (Route 14) Crystal Lake. A procession will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at the funeral home and end at the St. Thomas the Apostle Church for the 11 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection, with the Rev. Aaron Brodeski officiating. Interment will be at Ridgefield Cemetery.
Memorials may be made at the hospice program of the giver's choice
