Eugene T. Policinski

Eugene T. Policinski 78. of Barcus Way, passed away after an Illness at 6:55 am on Saturday, Jan 30. in Elkhart General Hospital. He was born to Stanley and Mary (Ogniszak) Policinski on Jan 5, 1921. in South Bend. Ind.. and had lived in the area all his life.

Mr. Policinski retired from the South Bend Tribune after 35 years of service.

On April 17, 1948. In South Bend, he married Margaret C. O'Neill, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Mary A. (Kenneth Nifong) O'Neill of Mishawaka, Ind.; three sons, Eugene F. (Kathleen Powell) Policinski of Reston, Va., Timothy J. Policinski of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Christopher J. (Anne) Policinski of Minneapolis, Minn.; ten grandchildren; a sister, Gladys (Harry) Waranica of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and by a sister-inlaw, Wanda Policinski of South Bend.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Hank Policinski.

Mr. Policinski was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Santa Maria Council #553.

Family and friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. on Monday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 1827 E. Ireland Road where a Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. by the parish and the Knights of Columbus. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the St. Jude Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery.
