Gladys Jane Peterson

Gladys graduated from South Bend Central High School and went on to graduate from Indiana University, Bloomington in 1942 with a degree in journalism. After working in advertising for the South Bend Tribune and Robertson's Department Store, she followed God's will for her life and attended Moody Bible Institute. Following her graduation with a degree in Christian Education she accepted a position with the David C. Cook Foundation, an interdenominational publisher of Sunday school and church material. She worked as an editor and photo-journalist traveling through 80 countries spreading the Word of God. Later she taught others to write Christian literature in their native language. Gladys, who was a published author, wrote with the intention of spreading the Christian message to all. After retiring from Cook's she moved back to South Bend. Gladys grew up in the Evangelical Covenant Church where she later taught Sunday school for many years. Throughout her miraculous life, she was severely hearing impaired.
