Vera L. (Northup) Rupert

Vera L. Northup Rupert, 64, of 18467 Auten Road died at 12:41 a.m. today in her home. Mrs. Rupert was private duty registered nurse for 35 years. She was born June 15. 1921, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On March 5, 1945, in South Bend, she married Charles L. Rupert, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Kay Heston and Tamara Brazelton, both of South Bend; two sons, Daniel of Minneapolis and Kevin of Phoenix; seven grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Lasley of Tucson, Ariz.; and a brother, Vernon Northup of Culver.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Welsheimer North Chapel, 52803 U.S. 33 N. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. She was a graduate of St. Joseph School of Nursing, member of American Nurses Association and Disabled Veterans Ladies Auxiliary Chapter 6. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph County Cancer Society or Hospice of St. Joseph County.
