Melvin Joseph Anthony Niemier

SWEETWATER (SC) - Melvin J. Niemier, 46, Phoenix, Ariz., retired Army veteran, died at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at Beaumont Hospital in El Paso after a long illness. He was the son of Mrs. Joseph R. Niemier of Sweetwater. Funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Patterson Chapel of Memories with burial in Newman Cemetery in Fisher County.

Mr. Niemier was born Sept. 20, in South Bend, Ind. He retired from active military duty recently due to an illness.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Miss Judy Niemier of Phoenix; a sister, Alma Scott of Sylvester, and a brother, Joseph R. Niemier Jr. of Anaheim, Calif.
