Erwin S. Kolesiak

SOUTH BEND - Erwin S. Kolesiak, 96, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 in his home.

Erwin was born March 31, 1920 in South Bend, to the late Sylvester and Wanda (Tabolski) Kolesiak. Erwin was also preceded in death by sister, Adeline Kolesiak.

Survivors of Erwin include his wife, Jean (Schrader) Kolesiak of South Bend; daughters, Pamela (Tim Farrar) Cecchi of Granger, and Shelley (Thomas Dobbs) Kolesiak of South Bend; son, Eric Kolesiak of South Bend; and grandchildren, Cory Iwaszewski of South Bend, and Kimberly Iwaszewski of Nashville, TN.

Erwin honorably served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 357 and VFW 9820. He was an operations manager retiring from J.C. Penneys after 38 of years. He loved gardening, hiking, travelling and collecting coins and stamps. Erwin was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Most of all, he loved spending time with his 2 grandchildren.

There will be a private burial at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family.
