John "Jack" Jacob Kindig

John "Jack" Jacob Kindig, died peacefully August 15, 2012 at age 91 in Dallas, TX. He was born on June 16, 1921 in South Bend, Indiana to Gertrude and Edward Kindig; he graduated from South Bend Central High School and played football and studied Accounting at Butler University. Jack was a pilot at the Greenville Aviation School near Ocala, Florida when he met his "one and only" Mary who would be his devoted wife for the next 68 years. They had four daughters, five granddaughters and one grandson.
He taught cadets how to fly during WWII, but left the Air Corps when the war ended. He spent the rest of his career as a salesman. He was most proud of the years spent at P&H and later Prudential. He spent his retirement as a landlord and front porch philosopher. He had a soft spot for people down on their luck and helped countless people in East Dallas with his generosity.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, daughters Mary Ann Kindig, Theresa Rynell, Shirley Francis, Kristine Mossinghoff; grandchildren Julie Rynell, Jennifer Rynell, J.C. Francis III, Ellen Francis, Amanda Mossinghoff and Alexandra Mossinghoff; sons-in-law Michael Rynell, James C. Francis Jr, and Michael Mossinghoff; and sister Patricia Kindig Ross.
Visitation 6:00 pm followed by the Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm, Sunday, August 19th, in the Chapel of Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass, 10:30 am, Monday, August 20, 2012 at St Pius X Catholic Church, 3030 Gus Thomasson Road, Dallas, TX. Veteran Burial will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) National Cemetery, Dallas, TX, for immediate family.
