Ruth Ann (Hutchinson) McCuen

SOUTH BEND – Ruth Ann McCuen was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 7, 2009, at the age of 87 surrounded by her family. She was a resident of Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa, IN. Born to the union of Ruby (Kelly) Hutchinson and Earl John Hutchinson on October 5, 1921, she married Edward Lee McCuen on March 21, 1942, who survives her. Together they had two children.

Ruth was a loyal, devoted wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. One of her greatest pleasures in life was spending time with her family. She was employed for many years at Aetna Life and Casualty Insurance Co. Ruth was a longtime, faithful member of Community Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her two children, Carol (Philip) Hughes of Stevensville, MI, and James (Janet) McCuen of South Bend; as well as six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, John Hutchinson, and sister, Jean Warner.

Memorial services will be held in Community Baptist Church, 5715 Miami Street, South Bend, IN 46614, on Tuesday, July 14th. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church
