Virginia A. (Hatfield) Walker

Virginia A. Walker, 78, of Fairington Circle, South Bend, Ind., formerly of South 24th Street, died at 9:05 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 15th, in St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend. She was born on May 5, 1921, in South Bend, and had lived here all of her life.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Walker of South Bend; two sons, Jerrold Walker of South Bend and James (Yvonne) Walker of Granger, Ind.; two grandchildren, Lindsey and Lauren Walker, both of Granger; and by a brother, William L. Hatfield of South Bend.

Virginia was a manager for Sarah Coventry Jewelry, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association, Potawatomi Chapter, and of the former River Park Church of Christ, now the Deer Run Church of Christ.

Services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 18th, in the Deer Run Church of Christ, 2730 S. Ironwood, South Bend, IN 46614. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michiana Christian Service Camp, 7383 Steinbauer, Niles, MI 49120; or to the church.
