Gordon C. Goodling, 48, of 1021 E. Indiana Ave., died at 5 p.m. Monday in the Veterans Hospital, Indianapolis, after an illness of two weeks. Born Jan. 18, 1922 in South Bend, he had lived here, all his life.

On Aug. 24, 1939 in Crown Point, Ind., he married Etta L. Kronewitter, who survives with a son, Patrick G., who is stationed with the Army in Korea: three daughters, Mrs. Charles Worthen of South Bend, Miss Geraldine W. and Miss Lizzie A. Goodling, both at home; three grandchildren, and a brother, Harold of North Liberty.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Forest G. Hay and Son Funeral Home, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Rev. Scott Weaver, pastor of Grace Brethren Church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.

Mr. Goodling was a former employee of the Friden Calculator Co., and a member of the Grace Brethren Church, and a veteran of World War II. Veterans of Foreign Wars 1167, of which he was a member, will hold graveside services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Brethren Foreign Missions Fund
