Mary Elizabeth (Glass) “Pete” Osborne

CARY Elizabeth G. “Pete” Osborne, 92, died peacefully at Woodland Terrace, Cary, on June 3. After her husband, Daniel Osborne, retired from his Air Force career, they settled in Peru, NY, where Mrs. Osborne worked in local schools and served on the board at the Peru Free Library. She moved to Raleigh in 2006 to be near her daughter, Susan Osborne and her husband Stephen Reynolds.

Pete was an avid reader, lover of the arts, and crossword-puzzle master, and even after disability overtook her, maintained a positive tone and winning smile that will be remembered by all who knew her.

In addition to Susan Osborne, survivors include children, Anne R. Osborne and her husband Thomas McGovern of Pipersville, PA, and John Osborne and his wife Anne Osborne of Monticello, NY and grandchildren Elizabeth McGovern of New Haven, Con- necticut and Daniel McGovern of New York City.

They are all grateful for the exceptionally caring and attentive service of the staff at Woodland Terrace, and for the support of Hospice of Wake County and the Cremation Society.

In lieu of flowers, contributions would be greatly appreciated to the North Caro- lina University State Libraries, the Carolina Ballet, or Hospice of Wake County.
