EAST CHICAGO, IN Aurelia V. Gediga, age 85, of East Chicago, IN, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Munster Med Inn.
She is survived by one brother, Florian Ray Gediga of East Chicago, IN; one sister, Mary (late John) Duffy of Cedar Lake, IN; nieces and nephews: Mary Rose (Mike) Nahorniak of Norridge, IL, Stanley Wiertel, Jr. of Chicago, IL, Anthony (Cindy) Wiertel of Joliet, IL, Catherine (Patrick) Foster of New Britton, CT, Patrick (Megan) Duffy of Chicago, IL and Deborah (Greg) Tancrell of Dubuque, IA; great-nieces and nephew: Kiernan, Segan and Thomas; brother-in-law, Stanley (late Lucille) Wiertel of Chicago, IL; numerous aunts and cousins.
Preceded in death by parents: John and Mary Gediga; sister, Lucille Wiertel; and brothers: John and Joseph Gediga.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Stanislaus Church, 808 W. 150th Street, East Chicago, IN with Msgr. John Siekierski officiating. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
Aurelia was a former manager of Douglas Park Pharmacy and was a former member of St. Stanislaus Church. She had a passion for sewing and dancing.
