ELKHART Arthur A. Eastman Jr., 84, of 3109 E.

Bristol Street, died at 3 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 17, 2005) at Eastlake Terrace, Elkhart. He was born May 27, 1 921 , in South Bend, to Arthur A. and Lydia (Dittman) Eastman.

He married Elinor L. Beecher on April 24, 1948, in Knightstown, Ind. She survives, along with a daughter, Cynthia (Gene) Gamber of Elkhart; a son, David Eastman of Bloomington, Ind.; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James T. Eastman.

Friends called from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Hartzler-Gutermuth-lnman Funeral Home, 403 W. Franklin St., Elkhart. Memorials services will be at a later date in Naples, Fla. Cremation with entombment will be in Naples.

Mr. Eastman was formerly a partner at Jones and Taylor Advertising. At the time of his retirement, in 1984, he was senior vice president of corporate relations at National Bank and Trust Co. in South Bend. He was a member of the South Bend Country Club, Rotary Club of South Bend and Naples, Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, Indiana Club, Signal Point Country Club of Niles, Stonebridge Country Club of Naples, Trinity by the Cove Church in Naples and St. James Cathedral in South Bend.

Mr. Eastman served on the board of directors of the YMCA in South Bend, and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a graduate of Central High School in South Bend and attended Indiana University, Bloomington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
