Verda Marie (Dudley) Burner

Verda M. Burner, 83, of Millers Merry Manor, Plymouth, formerly of South Bend, passed away at 11:40 p.m.Friday, December 24 in Millers merry Manor. She was born on May 23, 1921, in South Bend to the late, Ida B. (Derdorff) and Bert M. Dudley. Mrs. Burner was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah M. Kelley; and two brothers, Earl R. and Harl Dudley.

On December 5, 1943, in South Bend, as Verda M. Dudley, she married Frederick W. Burner, who survives. Mrs. Burner is also survived by a daughter, Helen R. Arvesen of Plano, Texas; a son, Philip J. Burner of South Bend; and five grandchildren.

Mrs.Burner retired from the Ben Franklin Variety Store after over 10 years of service, where she was the Manager of the Sewing and Notions Department.She also was a self-employed dress maker and was a member of the Bibleway Baptist Church in South Bend. Services for Mrs.Burner will be at 2 p.m.Monday, December 27, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 North William Street, South Bend, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Rev. Dan Duncan, pastor of Bibleway Baptist Church will conduct the services. Cremation will take place after the services in the Michiana Crematory, South Bend, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Bibleway Baptist Church, 50775 St.Rd.933 North, South Bend, IN 46637.
