SOUTH BEND - Stephen J. Andrzejewski, 72, of North Johnson Street, died at 1:35 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Andrzejewski retired from National-Standard, Niles. He was born Sept. 26, 1919, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On April 29, 1950, in South Bend, he married Rita Bartkowiak. She survives with three daughters, Carol Freel of Bremen, and Judith Newman and Sandra Butler, both of South Bend; a son, Ronald of South Bend; and seven grandchildren.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 29, West Side Democratic & Civic Club, Chain-O-Lakes Conservation Club and United Steel Workers Local 3056.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. There will be no visitation. St. Joseph Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
