MISHAWAKA - Helen Cecelia Emenaker, 92, passed away at her home on Thursday, January 23, 2014.

She was born on March 30, 1921, in Gladstone, MI, but lived most of her life in Mishawaka.

Helen graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1939. She was preceded by her husband of 54 years, Joseph "Woody" in 1999, and her loving daughter, Kathryn "Kathy" in 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Frank Jackey in Arcadia, MI; sisters, Jeanne (Bob) Coyner of Kokomo, IN, Dorothy (Bud) Marks of Mishawaka; and brother, Frank Jackey of San Marcos, CA.

She is survived by her sister, Julie (Richard) Hagye of Norton Shores, MI; sisters-in-law, Mary Jackey of San Marcos, CA, and Mildred Kleizer of Mishawaka; also many nieces and nephews; special friend, Nancy Myers; and caregivers, Shanida Lee and Jody Carter, who was also her best friend.

Helen was an avid card player, especially bridge, cribbage and rummy. She loved to cook, and traveled to many countries including England, France, Germany, Italy and Greece. She also visited Hawaii and Mexico.

Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, January 29, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior in St. Monica Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with inurnment following at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.

Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka, has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
