SOUTH BEND Howard E. Jones, 80, of Redlands, Calf., formerly of South Bend and Mishawaka, died Friday in Braswell's Chateau Villa Care Center, Redlands. Mr. Jones was born July 2, 1909, in New Castle, Pa., and moved to Callfornia in 1949 from South Bend.
On Feb. 21, 1931, he married Bessie Lambert. She died Feb. 27, 1983. He is survived by two grandsons; and two sisters, Ruth E. Warstler of South Bend and Anna Mae Humelhans of Phoenix, Ariz.
A daughter, Barbara Ann Cline, died Oct. 15, 1983.
Cremation has taken place. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Cortner Pierce Bros. Funeral Home, Redlands, handled arrangements.
