Josephine Ruth (Snoke) Thompson

J. Ruth Thompson, 57, 628 died W. Front St., New Carlisle, at 9:10 p.m. Saturday Memorial Hospital after an illness of five weeks. She was an employee of the Bendix Corp. She was born on Jan. 19, 1910, South Bend and lived in New Carlisle for 13 years, coming from California.

On April 22, 1955, she was married to Richard A. Thompson, in New Carlisle.

He survives with her father, Herbert Snoke, of Oxnard, Calif.; three sons, David Thompson of Kalamazoo, Michael Carroll, at home and Walter Carroll of Oxnard; two daughters, Miss Judy Thompson, at home and Mrs. C. J. Murphy of South Bend; five grandchildren; two brothers, Howard Snoke of Vallejo, Calif., and David Snoke Cranston, R.I.; and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Bednar of Oxnard.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the H. C. Amen & Son Funeral Home, New Carlisle where services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Rev. Paul Dodge, pastor of New Carlisle Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
