John Carroll Pollock

Funeral services for John Carroll Pollock, aged 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll N. Pollock, 817 Ashland avenue, who died at 2:50 o'clock Friday afternoon in Epworth hospital of injuries suffered early New Year's morning when the automobile in which he was returning to South Bend from Niles, Mich., crashed head-on into a truck on U. S. 31 will take place at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon from First Methodist Episcopal church, in charge of Rev. Gilbert S. Cox, D. D., pastor. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery. The body will lie in the residence until 11:30 o'clock Monday morning when it will be removed to the sanctuary of the church to remain till the funeral.
Mr. Pollock died without having regained consciousness. His companion in the car, also of this city, died Monday morning.
Mr. Pollock was born in South Bend July 7, 1910, and lived, his entire life here.
He was graduate of South Bend Central Senior High school, where he was active in social and club affairs. He later attended DePauw university at Greencastle, Ind. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, of the Blue Key, the DePauw Scabbard and Blade, the R.O.T.C., and the Hamilton club. He was employed by the Smith-Alsop company.
Surviving besides his parents are two brothers, Robert and David, both at home
