MESA, AZ Ward M. Williamson, 95, of Mesa, AZ went to be with the Lord January 6, 2015. Born to Lee L. and LaFern (Kramer) Williamson on June 13, 1919, Ward had two siblings, Paul Williamson and Carmen Thune who preceded him in death.

Ward married Claire (Allett) in Valparaiso July 19, 1940 and their marriage lasted 70 years until her death in 2011. Their children are Roxanne (Mike) Shutske of Kouts, IN, Janifer (Joe) Lackey of Trafalgar, IN and Sally (Wayne) Fasel of Apache Junction, AZ.

Wayne also, preceded him in death in 2011, as well as a great-grandson Brandon Hunt in 1998.

Ward served in World War II for four years and was stationed in India. Upon his return the family became active in Trinity Lutheran Church. Ward worked for the Vidette Messenger until his retirement when he and Claire were able to travel between Florida and Arizona. Ward and Claire leave a legacy of 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who will remember them fondly.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Graceland Cemetery Mausoleum in Valparaiso.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
