Gerhardt Wilke, 1317 N. O'Brien died at 3 a.m. today. in Memorial Hospital after an illness of 27 months. He was born in Berlin, Germany, Nov. 24, 1919, and had lived in South Bend 33 years, coming here from Berlin. Mr. Wilke was an accountant for the, Bendix Products Division, Bendix Aviation Corp.

On Oct. 19, 1940, in South Bend he married Elizabeth McDonald, who survives.  Other survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Wilke of South Bend; two daughters, Peggy Lou , and Kathryn Ann, and a son, Gary Steven, all at home.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Welseheimer Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m, Monday in the Epworth Memorial Methodist Church with Rev. E. Richard Haley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.

Mr. Wilke was a member of the church, the Bendix Supervisors Club, Post 50, American Legion, land was a veteran of World War II. having served with the U.S. Navy
