John P. Wielgos

John Paul Wielgos, 45, of 2823 Beechwood Lane, an employee of the South Bend Post Office, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Robert Long Hospital, Indianapolis, after an illness of six days.

He was born in South Bend on Aug. 24. 1918.

He married Martha Czerniak on Aug. 29, 1943, in St. Mary's Church at Temple, Tex. She survives. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wielgos, South Bend: two sons, Dennis and John Paul and a daughter, Susan, all at home: two brothers, Chester of South Bend and Eugene of Pompano Beach, Fla., and a sister, Mrs. Virginia Rozewicz of South Bend.

A local musician for years, Mr. Wielgos was a veteran of World War II and a member of Chapter 6, Disabled American rans, and the Postal Clerks Union.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Jerome R. Bonk, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call after 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the St. Funeral Home
