Robert L Warren Sr. 82. of Bercado Place, Mishawaka, Ind. formerly of South Bend, died at 3:17 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2001. following an illness. Mr. Warren was born January 31, 1919 in Davenport, lowa to the late Daniel L. and Edna (Kelly) Warren and lived in the South Bend-Mishawaka area since 1926.

On May 26, 1951 in South Bend he married Jeanne Ann Ransberger who survives Also surviving are a daughter, Patricia J. Warren of South Bend; and a son, Robert L. Warren Jr. also of South Bend.

Mr. Warren graduated from South Bend Central High School In 1937 and attended the University of Miami, Fla. In 1941 he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps and served in World War I| as a First Lieutenant from 1941 to 1946. After returning from military service he continued his education and graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington.

He retired as the owner of the Robert L. Warren Insurance Agency In 1979. Bob was and avid golfer and had belonged to the South Bend Country Club and the Morris Park Country Club where he served as president. He enjoyed fishing and bridge. His mother, who was a Life Master, taught him to play bridge when he was in high school and he enjoyed playing all his life. He was also a Life member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #235, South Bend.

Military graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1st in Highland Cemetery by V.F.W. Post #360 of Mishawaka. Cremation will take place at Michiana Crematory. South Bend. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to YMCA Camp Eberhart. 10300 Corey Drive, Three Rivers, Mich. 49093. Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N.
