Marvin H. Smith, 61, of 1138 Belmont, died at. 8:15 a.m. Sunday at St. Joseph's Medical Center after a two-year illness. He was employed by T.R.A.C., Inc.

Born on July 16, 1919, in South Bend, he had lived here all his life.

On Aug. 17. 1947, in South Bend, he married Rae Goloubow, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs.Nancy Newbold of Kansas City, Mo.: a son Terry of Bloomington. Ind.: three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Baer of Washington, D.C. Mrs. Zelma Ottenstein of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. Dorothy Tucson, Ariz.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood. Rabbi Yisrael Gettinger, of Hebrew Orthodox Congregation, will officiate. Burial will be in Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery.

He was an army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, a 1941 graduate of Indiana University, a member of Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity, and the Sons of Israel Synagogue.
