Richard Scott Shawhan
Richard Scott Shawhan, 69, of 226 E. Fairview Ave, died about 10 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital Mr Shawhan retired from the former F W. Means & Co and was employed at Automated Data Processing Co He was born Aug. 22, 1919, in South Bend, where he lived his lifetime
Surviving are his former wife, O. Patricia Shawhan-Downs, who had cared for him, along with a daughter, Susan M. Shawhan of South Bend; son, Scott R. of South Bend; three grandsons; and a sister, Mary Louise Snyder of Stevensville.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Shawhan was a member of the Singles-Mingles Bridge Club and had been a teacher of duplicate bridge for many organizations.
Memorial services will be at 8 p.m. today at Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., where friends may call after 6 p.m. today. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Foundation for AIDS Research.
