Oren J. Roys

Oren J. Roys, 83, passed away at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 1, in the Garden Court Nursing Home, Bossier City, La. Mr. Roys grew up in Mishawaka, Ind., and graduated from Central High School, South Bend, Ind.

He joined the Army-Air Corps in 1941, and retired from Barksdale Air Force Base in May 1941. He settled in Bossier City and ran his own business until 1979. He was a lover of sports, bridge and the outdoors.

On March 28, 1942, in South Bend, he married Mary Teeter, who survives him. He is also survived by his daughter, Linda Burns of Shreveport, La.; a son, Ken, and his wife, Rossana of Houston, Texas; four grandsons; one sister, Esther Van Dyke of South Bend; and one brother, John Roys, and his wife, Anne of Grand Rapids, Mich.

No services will be held. Cremation will take place at Boone Funeral Home, Bossier City, La.
