Kathryn L. McGloshen

Kathryn L. McGloshen, 81, of Ryer Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 7:40 p.m. Monday, July 30, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born on Sept. 8, 1919, in LaPorte, Ind., to the late Opal (Fisher) and Walter J. Palm.
Mrs. McGloshen is survived by a sister, Marjorie Elizabeth Eveleigh of South Bend; two brothers, James Walter (Carolyn) Palm of Rockford, Ill., and William A. (Dorothy) Palm of New Carlisle, Ind.; six nieces and nephews, Donna Kay Eveleigh (David) Himes of Raleigh, N.C., Georgeann Eveleigh Prestin of South Bend, William (Judith) Palm Jr. of Utica, Mich., Robert (Carolyn) Palm of New Carlisle, Alan J. Palm of Rockford and Dennis B. (Maryann) Palm of Rockford; and by 11 grand-nieces and nephews, and seven grandgrand-nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McGloshen worked 30 years as a senior secretary specialist for IBM, working from April 16, 1956, until her retirement on June 30, 1986. She was a 1937 graduate of South Bend Central High School.
Services for Mrs. McGloshen will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, South Bend, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637-3437
