Chester S. Niedbalski

Chester S. Niedbalski, 46, of 2506 W. Dunham St., was found dead in the garage at his home about 5 a.m. today after suffering an apparent heart attack there. Dr. Harry A. Ludwick, St. Joseph County deputy coroner, said that Niedbalski died of natural causes, probably a heart attack. Police were called to the scene by Mrs. Niedbalski who discovered her husband lying on the floor in the garage at the rear of his home about 5 a.m.
Mrs. Niedbalski said her husband left the house about 8 p.m. she thought she heard him return about 12:45 a.m. Mr. Niedbalski had been an employee of the Bendix Corp. for the last 21 years.
He was born on Dec. 5, 1916, in South Bend.
He married Clara Antkowiak on Feb. 18, 1939, in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. She survives with his mother, Mrs. Lottie Niedbalski, of South Bend; a son, Pvt. Reynold C., with the U.S. Army, Fort Riley, Kan.; two daughters, Linda, a student at Ball State Teachers College, Muncie, and Gayle, at home; two brothers, Alex and Clement, and a sister, Mrs. Hildegarde Barczykowski, all of South Bend.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday at the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Adalbert's Church with Very Rev.: Msgr. Ignatius J. Gapczynski, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Mr. Niedbalski was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Adalbert's Parish and Bendix Local 9, United Auto Workers
