Helen (New) Berman Landau

Helen Berman Landau, 95, passed away on Monday May 18th after a short illness. She was born in South Bend to Mollie (Katz) and David New on January 3, 1920. On June 15, 1947 Helen married Lewis Berman of South Bend; he passed away on December 11, 1969. Helen married Herman Landau, of Louisville, KY on June 22, 1975 and resided with him there until his death on December 28, 2006. She remained in Louisville before moving back to the South Bend area in September, 2014.
Helen is survived by three children: Maggie Goldberg (Steve) of South Bend, Susan Berman (John Rogers), and Joe Berman (Marsha Gentner) of Washington, DC, and two step daughters: Kay Miller (Ted) of Toledo, OH and Rebecca Landau (Robert Greenfield) of Philadelphia, PA. She also leaves six beloved granddaughters: Alison Goldberg Beutler (Kristen) of Oak Park, IL, Dana Goldberg of Washington DC, Lauren Goldberg of London, England, Jillian Berman of New York City, and Leah Miller (Joel Mathers), of Columbus Ohio, one grandson, Sam Miller (Jen) of Louisville, KY, and six great grandchildren.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, two husbands and a brother, Sam New.
Funeral services will be TODAY at 11:30am at McGann Hay, Forest G. Hay Chapel, 435 S. Ironwood Dr. at Jefferson Blvd., Rabbi Michael Friedland, officiating.
