Rev. Virginia Mae (Murray) Spillman

Rev. Virginia Spillman, 92, died Sept. 6, 2012, in Bluffton. She was born May 27, 1920, in South Bend, Ind., to George and Maude Mendenhall Murray, who preceded her in death.
On July 23, 1938, she married Clarence Pletcher, who died in 1963. On Oct. 1, 1965, she married the Rev. Samuel Joiner, who died in 1973. On June 7, 1975, she married Robert Spillman, who died in 2010.
The Rev. Mrs. Spillman was a graduate from minister and missionary training, earning a master's degree in theology. She was a founding member of Highway Chapel Church of God, Hamlet, Ind., served as pastor of the Church of God in Argos, Ind., took missionary trips to Cuba in the 1950s and was a substitute teacher at Oregon-Davis Schools in Hamlet, Ind., for several years.
Survivors include a son, David (Sylvia) Pletcher, of Bluffton; a daughter, Sharon Formhals, of Austintown; five grandsons; nine greatgrandchildren; three greatgreat-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Pletcher; a granddaughter; two stepsons; a son-in-law, Roger Formhals; and two brothers and three sisters. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Highway Chapel Church of God, Hamlet, Ind. Pastor Dan Allen will officiate. Burial will be in New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth, Ind.
Friends may call from noon until the time of services Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. Arrangements are by Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel, Hamlet, Ind
