Marie A. (Lucas) Bergan

SOUTH BEND - Marie A. Bergan, 74, of East Napoleon Boulevard, died at 1:50 a.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital after an illness.

Mrs. Bergan was born May 11, 1919, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

On July 11, 1942, in South Bend, as Marie A. Lucas, she married Paul E. Bergan. He died June 16, 1982.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Bergan of South Bend; three sons, Paul C. of Eau Claire, Timothy G. of Benton Harbor, and John J. of Elkhart; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her mother, Esther Lucas of South Bend; and a sister, Jane Cressy of Chicago.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
