Lieut Joseph F. Hurstel

LIEUT. J. F. HURSTEL. The body of Lieut. Joseph F. Hurstel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Hurstel, Sr., 817 East Miner street, will be returned to South Bend for reinterment.
Friends call in the Hickey funeral home Saturday and until memorial rites at 10 a. m. Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic church. Rev. Philip V. Beaghan, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial park. Members of South Bend post No. 1167, V. F. W., will conduct military rites.
Lieut. Hurstel was born in Kokomo, Ind., Feb. 21, 1919. He attended St. Joseph parochial school and was graduated from Central High school in 1937. Before entering the army air corps he was employed by the Studebaker corporation. He was killed crash in England, Oct. 22, 1943.
Surviving besides his parents are a sister, Betty, at home
