Maxine M. (Hosler) Delker
Oct. 26, 1919 - July 19, 2001
Maxine Marie (Hosler) Magnuson Delker, 81, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at 11:44 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center. The daughter Otis and was born on Oct. 26, 1919, in South Bend, Ind. Maxine married Victor E. Magnuson on June 4, 1938.
He preceded her in death in 1986.
She is survived by Thomas C. Delker, formerly of Kenilworth Road, South Bend. They were married on Oct. 12, 1989.
Maxine graduated from South Bend Central High School and from the South Bend College of Commerce. She was employed by Uniroyal as a secretary, and was employed as a secretary, and was a senior interviewer for the U.S. Census Bureau for 21 years. Along with her husband, Victor Magnuson, she was the co-owner of Rx Honing Machine Corporation in Mishawaka, Ind. Maxine chaired the Shepherd's Council at the First United Methodist Church in Mishawaka for many years, and also served on the board of the Susie Beiger Trust Fund. She brought much joy to others with her inspirational and sometimes humorous poetry.
A lifelong resident of the South Bend/Mishawaka community, Maxine is also survived by sons, Robert E. (Linda) Magnuson of South Bend and Terrance L. (Carolyn) Magnuson of Mishawaka; and a daughter, Vicki J. (Robert) Watson of Osceola, Ind. She is also survived by and will be greatly missed by her 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Family members preceding her in death include grandson-in-law, David Bradenbaugh.
Services will be e held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, in the First United Methodist Church on East Third Street, Mishawaka, where Maxine was a member for the past 37 years. Friends may call in the Bubb Funeral Chapel on North Main Street in Mishawaka from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today.
