Edward Paul Gieranowski

Edward Paul Gieranowski, 78, of Chicago, IlI., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died Jan. 29, 1997, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Chicago. He was in the Army/Air Corps Band and had been decorated with the Bronze Star for the campaign in northern France.

He was born in South Bend on July 4, 1918, to the late Sylvester and Hedwig Gieranowski.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. John (Honorata) Andruszko of South Bend; and a brother, Rev. William J. Gieranowski of Pompano Beach, Fla. The body was cremated and buried at St.

Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Adalbert Church, South Bend, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7.
