Joseph Raymond Dylejko

SOUTH BEND — Joseph Raymond Dylejko, 90, of South Bend, IN passed away January 29, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, and brothers, Stanley and Edward Dylejko. Mr. Dylejko retired from St. Michael’s Laundry at the University of Notre Dame. He was a member of the Polka Masters Polka Band, who played for many years at weddings and parties in the South Bend area and was later inducted into the World Concertina Hall of Fame. The last two years he spent as a resident of Chandler Nursing and Rehab in Alabaster, AL.

Mr. Dylejko is survived by his daughter, Toni Gast (Lou); three grandchildren, Louie Gast (Merry) of Huntsville, AL , Kevin Gast of Fultondale, AL , and Michelle Albarado (Glenn) of Alabaster, AL; and six great-grandchildren, Kristopher and Alyson Gast of Huntsville, AL and Cody, Dustin, Blaise, and Siarra Albarado of Alabaster, AL.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Michael Remillard and the staff of Chandler Nursing and Rehab.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel, Birmingham, AL, is handling arrangements.
